Hiking Mount Bisoke is an adventurous and exciting activity which is not restricted to experienced hikers. Hiking up to the summit takes 4 hours while coming down 2 or more depending on how frequently the hiking team stops for rest. Seasoned mountain climbers can reach the summit in 3 hours. A Mount Bisoke hike is considered less demanding but hikers should be reasonably fit and prepare to deal with the thorny plants, stinging insects and muddy trails – especially during the rainy season.

Day 1 : Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park (Musanze) for Mount Bisoke Hike and back to Kigali
Pick up early morning from your hotel in Kigali is at 4:30am drive to Park headquarters in Kinigi from where go for Hike. Mt Bisoke stands at 3711m, it has the typical conic shape of a “perfect” volcano and in its crater lies a deep crater lake. The high elevation demands extra strength of climbers and the whole excursion can take between 5 hours and the whole day depending on the speed of the walk and the frequency of stopovers. During the hike, you will cross a series of different vegetation habitats starting with bamboo forests, then moving into Hagenia – Hypericum forest as well, yo will be back in the afternoon around 5Pm in Kigali.
